BYU won't be hurt by the drugs/alcohol part of the honor code since this is the BigXII and not the PAC12.

The ban on gay/lesbian relationships might hurt them, but they are in a conference with schools in California, Oregon and Washington, and it doesn't seem to be a problem right now.

The opposition to gay marriage initiative in California didn't hurt Notre Dame getting into the ACC, and the Catholic Church was much more of a part of that proposition being defeated at the polls than the LDS church.

Sunday games may hurt them, but no football games are played on Sundays, and only a handful of basketball are. Not hard to work around, but the other sports especially baseball could be difficult, but it appears that nobody has a problem accommodating them schedule wise.

People that want their school to make the cut for the BigXII are the ones that usually come up with the reasons why another school shouldn't be part of the BigXII, not the members of the BigXII. Remember, the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and WV are entirely different politically than the states of the PAC12.
